Plaza de Armas
Se ubica en el centro de la ciudad.
Se encuentra rodeada de tamarindos, los que fueron traídos desde la hacienda de Yapatera y sembrados desde 1870. En el centro se encuentra la "Pola", estatua en mármol que representa a la libertad y que fue obsequiada por el presidente José Balta, alrededor del año 1870.

Catedral de Piura

Fundada en 1588 bajo la advocación de la Virgen de la Asunción y de San Miguel Arcángel. En su interior se conserva un retablo churrigueresco de la Virgen de Fátima tallado en cedro de Nicaragua y cubierto con pan de oro que, probablemente, fue uno de los primeros en el Perú. El altar mayor fue reconstruido por el escultor español Julián Alagua luego del terremoto de 1912 siguiendo el estilo plateresco. En su calidad de iglesia matriz conserva el archivo parroquial de Piura.

Main Square
Downtown Piura. This plaza is surrounded by tamarindo trees, whose seedlings were brought from the Yapatera plantation and planted in 1870. At the center, you find the marble statue of the “Pola” who represents liberty and was presented by the President Jose Balta around 1870.

Cathedral of Piura

It was built in 1588 under the protection of the Virgen de la Asuncion (Assumption Virgin) and San Miguel Arcangel (Michael the Archangel). Preserved on the inside is the Churrigueresque shrine of the Virgin of Fatima carved from Nicaraguan cedar and covered in gold leaf. It was probably one of the first in Peru. The upper plateresque altar was reconstructed by the Spanish sculptor, Julian Alagua, after the 1912 earthquake. As the department’s main church, the Piura parish archives are kept there.

Iglesia San Francisco

Antiguo claustro edificado por los padres franciscanos durante el siglo XVIII. Fue declarado monumento nacional en los años 1969 y 1980.

Casa Museo del Almirante Miguel Grau

En esta casa nació y vivió el Almirante Miguel Grau, héroe de la Guerra del Pacífico (Guerra con Chile, 1879). La vivienda se compone de cuatro salas y una biblioteca. Se exhiben fotos, cartas, diplomas y documentos, además de los muebles utilizados por el Gran Almirante.

Iglesia del Carmen
Jr. La Libertad 366 frente a la plazuela Merino. Visitas: L-S en horario de misa.
Data del siglo XVIII y fue declarada Monumento Histórico Nacional en 1974. Actualmente se encuentra habilitada como Museo de Arte Religioso.

Museo Vicús
Intersección de la Av. Sullana y el Jr. Huánuco.Tel: (073) 32-7541. Visitas: L-S 8:00-20:00; D 8:00-12:00.
Consta de 3 salas: Sala Olleros, Sala de Tecnología Metalúrgica y Sala de Oro. Esta última alberga una colección de 61 objetos de oro que muestran el desarrollo y tecnología alcanzados por la cultura Vicús.

Centro Turístico Nacional Los Ejidos
A 10 km del centro de la ciudad de Piura (15 minutos en auto aprox.). Visitas: S-D 8:00-18:00.
El núcleo de este centro es un espejo de agua de 20 km de extensión, creado por el represamiento del río Piura. A su alrededor habitan animales como el pacazo (iguana de la región), garzas reales, zambullidores y gansos silvestres.

Casa Museo de Almirante Miguel Grau (Museum of the House of Admiral Miguel Grau)

This is the house where Admiral Miguel Grau, hero of the War of the Pacific (the war against Chile, 1879) was born and lived. The home consists of four large rooms and a library. Besides the furniture used by the Great Admiral, you can see pictures, letters, diplomas, and documents.

Del Carmen Church
Jiron La Libertad 366. Across from the Merino Plaza
It dates from the eighteenth century and was declared a National Historical Monument in 1974. Today, it houses the Museo de Arte Religioso (Religious Art Museum).

Vicus Museum

There are three halls, Ceramic Hall, Metallurgical Technology Hall, and Hall of Gold, the last of which houses sixty-one gold pieces that demonstrate the development and technology reached by the Vicus.

Los Ejidos National Tourism Center
10 km / 6 miles from Piura (Approximately 15 minutes by car). Visiting hours: Sat. – Sun. 8:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
The center of this site is a pool of water, 20 km / 12 miles long, that was created by the damming of the Piura River. Animals such as the iguana, the grey heron, the grebe, and the wild geese inhabit its shores.
